Ormiston Mansion is staffed entirely by volunteers, and although it is one of the Fairmount Park mansions, it is not one of the houses stewarded by the Fairmount Park Commission. While many of the furniture collections of the Fairmount Park Charms are provided and maintained by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Ormiston Mansion is a rather approachable house, with period reproduction furniture pieces that are meant to be used. And they are – during all the fun functions that follow the seasons at Ormiston.
Ormiston Mansion, maintained by the Royal Heritage Society in Philadelphia (RHS) is open the first two weekends each December (Friday-Sunday). Guided tours and complimentary tea and cookies are $5.00 for adults and children are free.
Ormiston Mansion is also open in mid-May during the Fairmount Park spring tours event and admission is free.
Ormiston is also open for special seasonal events priced accordingly. Be sure to check out the “Events” tab from on our home page.
Parking at Ormiston Mansion is always free. Ample spaces surround the house and gardens.
